About the Paradyż Altea collection
The Paradyż Altea collection offers a simple yet versatile mosaic in three colours — white, black, and red. These are monochrome mosaic walls available in glossy and matte finishes. Due to the small modulation of the mosaic, it can also address intricate areas such as shelves, niches, or rounded parts of walls, achieving a striking result even in combination with subtle floor tiles.
What impression does the collection create?
Altea focuses on the simplicity of colours expressed in mosaic format, allowing for the creation of either minimalist or purposefully dramatic surfaces. The white variant brightens the space, the black adds contrast and graphic quality, while the red brings energy and accent.
Glossy pieces enhance light reflections and give the surface a livelier appearance, while matte pieces will appear calmer and are suitable where you want to minimize glare.
What type of bathroom is it suitable for?
The Altea mosaic is suitable for both small and large bathrooms — in a small space, it can be used as an accent wall behind the sink or in the shower enclosure, while in a spacious bathroom, it can serve to create zones (shower, bath, toilet area).
Thanks to the ability to cover rounded surfaces, the collection is practical for designing continuous wall variations without the need for complicated cuts of ceramic slabs.
Formats, surfaces, and colours
The Altea collection consists of monochrome mosaics in three traditional colours: white, black, and red. Two surface finishes are available — glossy and matte.
Due to the mosaic character, colour transitions are not necessary; the choice of surface will influence the overall impression and the level of light reflections on the wall.
How to combine it
Altea works well with more neutral floor tiles and wall tiles — the simple mosaic serves as an accent against smooth stone, concrete, or wood-patterned floor tiles. Use the white mosaic where you want to brighten the space; black pairs well with light surfaces for contrast; red as a solitary accent.
When designing, consider edges and connecting strips: the mosaic may require detailed finishes at transitions to other materials, so plan for strips or, for example, tiled transitions for a clean result.
Installation and maintenance
Mosaic is laid differently than large-format tiles — when working, account for a greater number of joints and precise preparation of the substrate. For curved surfaces, the mosaic is practical but requires patient cutting and adjustment of individual segments.
Maintenance depends on the surface finish: glossy pieces are easier to clean, while dirt may be more noticeable on matte ones, so use suitable cleaning agents for ceramics and pay attention to cleaning the joints.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Altea mosaic suitable for a shower enclosure?
Yes, the Altea mosaic is suitable for shower enclosures, especially if you need to cover intricate or rounded surfaces. When laying, ensure proper waterproofing and suitable grout.
Which surface is better for a bathroom — glossy or matte?
A glossy surface enhances reflections and appears brighter, while a matte surface reduces glare and hides minor scratches more easily. The choice depends on the desired visual effect and maintenance requirements.
How to combine red mosaic without an overly striking result?
Use red as an accent area — for example, behind the mirror or in a small part of the shower enclosure, and choose neutral surrounding surfaces (white, grey, wood patterns) to make the red stand out without overwhelming the space.
