Bathroom furniture: cabinets, mirrors, and accessories in one place
Bathroom furniture determines whether everything will have its place in the bathroom. The foundation is a cabinet under the sink or a cabinet with a sink, along with a mirror or mirrored cabinet, and depending on the space, a tall cabinet, upper cabinets above the washing machine, or shelves above the WC. When choosing bathroom furniture, size, moisture-resistant materials, and quality of fittings are crucial – appearance comes later.
The most practical is wall-mounted furniture with drawers: it’s easy to clean underneath, the bathroom feels larger, and you can see the entire depth in the drawers. Choose a bathroom cabinet with edges without gaps and hinges and pull-outs with soft-close mechanisms, and match the colour and finish with the tiles and taps. The width of the cabinet is determined by the sink, while the width of the mirror is determined by the cabinet beneath it.

What to consider when choosing
- Wall-mounted furniture makes cleaning easier and visually enlarges the space as the floor remains free.
- Cabinet size is determined by the sink. In a small bathroom, shallower cabinets, corner sinks and tall narrow cabinets are helpful instead of wide ones.
- Height of the sink: the top edge is usually installed at a height of 85 to 90 cm. For a countertop sink, lower the countertop so that the resulting height is the same.
- Material: for the bathroom, moisture-resistant boards with well-glued edges are essential. With solid wood, consider good ventilation.
- LED mirror or gallery adds light to the face and storage space. Lights near water must have an IP rating according to the bathroom zone.
- Accessories in the same finish as the taps (chrome, black, gold) create a cohesive look. If you don't want to drill into the tiles, choose adhesive accessories.
