The Barro collection by Paradyż brings inspiration from black stone in a modern, matte finish. It is a series of tiles designed for walls and floors, allowing for the creation of continuous, monolithic surfaces thanks to larger formats. Barro is suitable for interiors where you want to achieve a refined, hotel-like appearance with a distinct material pattern without disruptive elements.

What impression does the collection create?

Barro evokes the impression of a dark, metamorphic stone-like material with a subtle pattern. The matte surface and deep shade of Nero create a sleek look while also reducing glare, making it suitable for spaces where you want to achieve a calmer atmosphere.

Using a larger, rectified format reduces the number of joints and enhances the effect of a continuous stone surface, reminiscent of a massive block of stone or marble.

What type of bathroom is it suitable for?

Barro works well in modern bathrooms with minimalist furnishings, where dark wall tiles highlight light sanitary elements and metallic accessories. It is also suitable for more spacious bathrooms with a feature shower enclosure or freestanding bath.

In smaller bathrooms, we recommend combining dark surfaces with larger light elements — for example, a light floor or a large mirror — to maintain the optical airiness of the space.

Formats, surfaces, and colours

The Barro collection is available in two larger formats: 59.8×59.8 cm and 59.8×119.8 cm. The surface is matte and the colour is represented by the shade Nero with a subtle, stony pattern. The tiles are rectified, allowing for narrow joints and a smoother final appearance.

This makes these formats suitable for achieving striking, continuous walls or floors, especially when using a larger format on dominant surfaces.

How to combine the collection

Barro pairs well with metallic accents in black, matte chrome, or warm copper — the substrate also mentions copper-toned foliage that can add a subtle accent. Balancing dark walls can be achieved by using light furniture, white sanitary ware, or a zone with a subtle pattern.

For the floors of smaller bathrooms, you might consider contrasting light tiles in a different format, or use Barro only as a cladding for one dominant wall and address the rest with lighter materials.

Installation and maintenance

Rectified large-format tiles require precise installation on a level substrate; it is recommended to use leveling mortar and an experienced installer to minimize differences between pieces. When planning, consider sufficiently narrow joints that will emphasize the monolithic effect.

The matte surface is practical for hiding minor smudges and water marks, but requires regular cleaning with a mild cleaner suitable for ceramics. When maintaining, avoid abrasive agents that could damage the finish.
