When looking at the box of floor tiles, it's worth checking not only the format but also the country of origin. Most wall and floor tiles in our stores come from four countries, each with its own tradition, strengths, and typical style.
Italy: design and innovations
The centre of Italian ceramics is the area around the town of Sassuolo in the Emilia-Romagna region. Here, in 1935, Marazzi was founded, which patented single firing and later crystallised gres. Italian manufacturers set trends, being the first to introduce new surfaces and large slabs, and are known for their sophisticated designs. This comes at a higher price.
Spain: stone, marble, and a wide selection
Spanish ceramics are concentrated in the province of Castellón, around the towns of Onda, Vila-real, and L'Alcora. This is also where Ecoceramic (Onda, part of the Pamesa group) and Nueva Alaplana come from. Spanish manufacturers excel in realistic imitations of marble and stone, polished surfaces, and offer a very wide selection of formats.

Poland: a strong neighbour with a good price-quality ratio
Poland is one of the largest ceramic manufacturers in Europe. Ceramika Paradyż from Opoczno, a family company founded in 1989, now operates five factories and supplies to over 50 countries. Polish manufacturers offer modern design at affordable prices and, due to proximity, also quick delivery.
Czech Republic: tradition since 1883
The Czech brand RAKO began producing wall tiles in Rakovník in 1883. Today it belongs to the LASSELSBERGER group, has five factories, and sells approximately 30 million m² of wall tiles and floor tiles annually. RAKO is known for its reliability, wide range of accessories, and proximity.
You can find all manufacturers from our offer on the Manufacturers of wall tiles and floor tiles page; we can verify the availability of individual brands at the studio in Senec, and part of the offer can be found at vkupelni.sk.
