RAKO: wall and floor tiles
RAKO is a traditional Czech brand of tiles and flooring. Production in Rakovník began in 1883 and today the brand belongs to the Austrian group LASSELSBERGER, which operates five plants in the Czech Republic.
Tiles you know from history
You can find RAKO tiles in the Prague Municipal House, in the Imperial café, and in the Tugendhat villa in Brno. As early as the 20th century, they were exported to the USA and were used to tile, for example, the Holland Tunnel in New York.
Modern production
Since 2002, LASSELSBERGER has united Czech ceramic plants under the RAKO brand. The plants in Chlumčany, Lubná, Horní Bříza, Borovany, and Podbořany sell approximately 30 million m² of tiles and flooring annually, with more than two-thirds going to export.
