Bathroom calculators: wall tiles, adhesive, radiator, fan and fall

How much wall tiles to buy, how many bags of adhesive and buckets of grout to get, what output the heated towel rail and fan should have, how much the floor will drop in a level-access shower, and approximately how much the renovation will cost. The calculators are free and without registration, and they calculate based on manufacturer data and standards. The result is indicative – verify it with a tiler, plumber, or with us in the showroom before purchase.

When renovating a bathroom, the most common mistake is the amount of material. When something is missing, work stops, and the purchased wall tiles may be a different shade. When there is too much, bags and boxes are left at home. The calculators below will help you make the first estimate before purchase.

Basis for the calculators

We calculate adhesive consumption based on the table in the technical data sheet of Ceresit CM 11 Plus – it depends on the size of the tile and the depth of the notched trowel. We calculate grout consumption according to the formula provided by Mapei in the technical data sheet for Ultracolor Plus grout. The radiator output is estimated based on the volume of the bathroom and the type of building, and we recalculate it according to the manufacturer Korado's catalogue, which specifies the output of the ladder at various water temperatures.

The results are indicative. Actual adhesive consumption depends on the evenness of the substrate, heat requirements are determined by calculating heat losses, and the renovation cost depends on the condition of your bathroom. When working with water, electricity, and during construction modifications, always consult a professional – tiler, plumber, heating engineer, or electrician.

Floor height and ventilation

The shower gradient calculator takes into account the heights of the drains from the technical data sheets of Alcadrain and a gradient of 1 to 2 % according to the drain manufacturer. The fan calculator is based on the table of ventilation requirements for apartments – bathroom 50 to 90 m³/h, separate WC 25 to 50 m³/h. You can also find the procedure in the articles Creating a fall in the shower floor and Fan for the bathroom.

We would be happy to check the calculator results for you in the showroom – you can see wall tiles, adhesives, grouts, radiators, and drains live at our store in Senec at Bratislavská 71.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the calculators free?

Yes. The calculators are free, without registration and without entering an email. You will see the result immediately.

How accurate are the results?

The results are indicative. They are based on manufacturer data and common rules. Actual consumption depends on the substrate, method of work, and specific product, so verify the data before purchase in the technical sheet or with a professional.

How much adhesive and grout to buy for wall tiles?

Adhesive according to format 2 to 4.8 kg per m², grout for large formats with a narrow joint around 0.1 kg per m², for small tiles even more than 0.5 kg per m². The adhesive and grout consumption calculator will calculate it precisely.

What output does the radiator need for the bathroom?

For a rough estimate, multiply the volume of the bathroom by 40 to 100 W per m³. A bathroom of 2.5 × 2 m with a height of 2.6 m thus needs approximately 520 to 1,300 W. The radiator output calculator will refine this according to the type of building and water temperature.
